July / 2020CENERO turns the former Thuringian solar factory into a multi-tenant facility

For CURATOR r.e.m. AG, CENERO Energy GmbH successfully converted a former solar factory in Ichtershausen near Arnstadt (Thuringia) to a multi-tenant facility. The building, constructed in 2009/2012 as a production site for solar modules, was previously designed for only one user and was most recently only partially used. Due to the original single-user structure and the very individual facility design, all utility services, especially electricity, previously had to be billed through the landlord.

CENERO developed an energy concept for the new owner that is designed to provide each tenant with their own connection without forfeiting the existing economic advantages. CENERO's concept has succeeded in ensuring the supply to the users at continued low grid fees, without the need for this to be managed and billed by the owner. 

"On large industrial properties that were originally built for only one user, it is often difficult to obtain energy, so we as CENERO often take care of the energy supply ourselves and bill the various users. We succeeded in ensuring that the individual tenants can be supplied directly by a supplier of their choice," Gerrit Baumann from CENERO says about the implementation of the project. 

CURATOR r.e.m. AG, as asset manager of the property, acknowledged that the transition to a multi-tenant facility was also accompanied by independence from local electricity providers and thus increased the attractiveness of the property for new tenants in a measurable way.
